My opinion:
First, if every sci-fi were as well written as this one, I'll probably read way more sci-fi!
Kelly is a very talented author. As you begin to read the story you are immerged in the conflict of the story. As you go on, you have many questions about the past and some of them get answered in the "segment" chapters.
It took me a long time to finish it, but not because it wasn't entertaining (school, work and family are meddling with my reading time). This book gets you to laugh, tears up, consider some deep thoughts. The rhythm is well chosen, some moments are a little slower than I would like, but otherwise, it is great! I had an amazing time reading the book and I know for sure that once my TBR is a little lower, I'll read the rest of the series!
